RCB Donates to Wilmington Schools 1:1 Chromebook Program

Wilmington, MA – Reading Cooperative Bank recently made a $1,000 donation to the Wilmington Public Schools. The money will be used to purchase Chromebooks for students in need. Wilmington Public schools recently announced the 1:1 Chromebook Program, through which every student will have a Chromebook to use as part of their daily curriculum in Wilmington.

“Technology has become an integral part of everyday life, including in schools. The 1:1 Chromebook Program shows the Town’s commitment to make sure its students do not fall behind. RCB is glad for the opportunity to help purchase Chromebooks for those students whose families can’t afford the expense, it aligns with our community values and we are happy to contribute,” says Nancy Brown, Wilmington Branch Manager.

Wilmington Public Schools (WPS) states that it is “poised to do extraordinary things with the use of technology. The students in Wilmington deserve to have as many tools available to provide the best education possible. WPS is ready to integrate technology and increase personalized learning. Just like the paper and pencil in times past, the digital tools of today off­er a vast array of learning opportunities.”
