Reading Cooperative Bank Teaches Saving Techniques to Students at Woburn Street School

Reading, MA –Nancy Brown, Manager of Reading Cooperative Bank’s Wilmington Branch, visited the Woburn Street School where, over a three day period, she taught over 400 students the importance of saving. She taught the first, second and third-grade students under the guidelines of the Teaching Children to Save program. Brown has been holding these lessons for the past few years and has acquired a genuine passion for teaching young students the value of saving their money.
“Although the few days that I spent teaching at the Woburn Street School were busy, there is no place I would rather be. I am very proud of the work that I do with children in the local communities through the Teaching Children to Save Program and each lesson presents a new challenge to the students. The students at the Woburn Street School were especially attentive and respectful which always makes the lessons enjoyable,” says Nancy Brown, Wilmington Branch Manager.
Teaching Children to Save (TCTS) is a national program that organizes bank volunteers, like Brown, to help young people develop savings habits early in life. The program was founded in 1997, and since that time over 145,000 volunteers have taught over 6 million students the importance of saving.
