Sean Collier's Family Waves Flag Prior to Bruins Win

The slain MIT Police Officer's family members were the latest inspirational guest to wave the Boston Strong flag prior to Monday night's Stanley Cup Final Game 3.

Monday was a memorable night at TD Garden. And not only because the Boston Bruins pulled within two victories of winning the Stanley Cup.

Before each Bruins home game since the Boston Marathon bombings, the team has welcomed banner captains to the ice to wave a Boston Strong flag while a massive Bruins flag is passed around the lower bowl of the arena.

The latest guests at TD Garden were family members of Sean Collier, the Wilmington native who was killed in the line of duty as a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer, allegedly by the marathon bombing suspects.

According to NESN.com, Rob Rogers, Jenn Rogers and Jennifer Lemmerman waved the flag with the arena dark and a spotlight on them. The family wore No. 17 jerseys that were custom made with "Collier" sewn onto the back.

Boston toppled Chicago, 2-0, to take a 2-1 series lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 4 is slated for Wednesday night at TD Garden.
