Several Home Games Set for Wildcat Teams This Week

The fall season is moving along rapidly, with multiple teams hoping to improve their playoff positioning.

It's getting down to crunch time for Wilmington sports teams.

There are just two full weeks of regular season tilts for most teams, as several local squads make a push for playoff spots and league titles.

On Monday, just one varsity team is in action. The girls volleyball team travels to face Stoneham with a 4 p.m. start time. The JV team hits the court after that match is over with an estimated 5:15 p.m. start.

Tuesday is a busy day for Wildcat teams. The boys and girls cross country teams are at home against Wakefield at 3:45 p.m. while the boys soccer team seeks a second straight win as they host Watertown at 3:45 p.m.

Meanwhile, several teams are in action on the road. The golf team plays Woburn at 3:30 p.m., the girls soccer team is in Watertown at 3:45 p.m. and the field hockey team travels to take on Watertown at 6 p.m.

It's the volleyball team's turn to travel to Watertown on Wednesday. They're the only team in action with a 4 p.m. tilt.

On Thursday, a pair of Lady Wildcat teams take the field. At 3:30 p.m. the field hockey team hosts Melrose while the girls soccer team welcomes the same team to town at 6 p.m. The boys soccer team is on the road, traveling to face Melrose at 3:45 p.m.

The week comes to a close on Friday with a pair of home contests. The volleyabll team starts things off against Melrose at 4 p.m. before the football team hopes to bounce back from a loss to Wakefield with a 7 p.m. kick off against Stoneham.
