
It’s a job that often goes unnoticed in school systems, but Wilmington students recently made sure their school nurse knew just how much she is appreciated.
May 11 was National School Nurse's Day, and the National Association of School Nurses recognized the contributions that these employees make to keep kids healthy.
At , that included the presentation by students of a card, signed by everyone in the school, to their school nurse.

This year’s NASN theme is “Vision, Voice, Visability: Sail Towards Healthy Horizons.”
“School nurses provide a non-negotiable value for our nation’s children, keeping them healthy, in school and ready to learn,” said a Wilmington Public Schools press release. “NASN believes every teacher deserves a school nurse so they can focus on teaching success, and every parent deserves to be able to send their child to a school with a nurse, knowing their child will be safe.”
