Stellar Pitching, Timely Hitting Lead Wildcats
Wilmington softball earns 4-0 home win over visiting Cambridge.
The Wilmington softball team received plenty of solid pitching and enough timely hitting to get by as the Lady Wildcats snagged a 4-0 victory over visiting Cambridge on Friday.
Emily Crannell sparked the locals in the opening frame. The senior laced a two-run home run into the left centerfield gap as she raced around the bases and slid safely under the awaiting tag at home plate.
Then in the second inning, Cristina Wilson blooped an RBI double that scored Jackie Kennedy. Pitcher Ashley White hit a pop fly that fell in during the third inning, bringing home Amanda Richards for the final run of the game.
