Suspect Eludes Wilmington Police After Chase, Crash

WILMINGTON, MA -- Police are looking for the driver of a Chevrolet pickup who crashed into a tree on Woodland Avenue in Wilmington early Sunday morning. Police were responding to a call to a man who was looking into vehicles on River Street when they noticed the vehicle, which matched the vehicles discussion. As the officer followed the vehicle, it fled at a high rate of street before turning and crashing on Woodland, a dead end.

According to the Wilmington Apple, which first reported this story, the driver fled into a nearby wooded area. Police searched the area with the assistance of Massachusetts State Police canine units but were unable to locate the suspect.
