Tour the New Wilmington High School on Thursday
Student led tours of the new facility are open to the public Thursday afternoon and evening.

The new Wilmington High School has officially been open for three weeks and this week residents will get a chance to take a look inside with guided tours of the new facility.
On Thursday, March 19 from 3-8 p.m. members of the Wilmington community are invited to come and tour the new Wilmington High School. No appointment is necessary, just drop in anytime between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tours will be led by students and visitors will also be able to see student performances and buy something sweet at the bake sale.
The students had their first classes in the new high school just after February school vacation, ushering in a new era for Wilmington High School students, following a grand opening attended by students, teachers, town officials and special guests.

Construction of the $82.7 million dollar project to replace the current high school began in April 2013. The original high school was built in the 1950s.
More work is still to be done including the demolition of the existing school, work on the baseball field, multipurpose field, parking lot, and the tennis/basketball courts - all are expected to be completed by the end of the 2015 calendar year. Demolition of the current building is expected to begin in the upcoming weeks.
