Undercover Patrol Nets Three On Underage Drinking Law Violations In Wilmington
The spot checks and surveillance of area liquor stores were conducted on Friday and Saturday.

WILMINGTON, MA -- Wilmington police conducted undercover operations Friday and Saturday night, performing spot checks of liquor law compliance at area establishments and conducting surveillance of liquor stores. The investigation was conducted using a grant from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security .
The investigation resulted in three arrests:
- Azwad Anwar, 23, of Wilmington, was arrested and charged with Procuring Alcohol For an Individual Under 21 and Possession of a Class B Substance.
- Jason Turdelle, 18, of Wilmington, was arrested and charged with Minor In Possession of Liquor.
- A 16-year-old Wilmington boy was arrested and charged with Minor In Possession of Liquor.

The police department said it will continue to conduct periodic investigations. In a statement, the department noted that towns that have tried to reduce access to alcohol for minors have seen a reduction in car crashes and crime.
