As it has in the past the Abundant Life Church was host to the Wilmington Community Vacation Bible School. For the Past Week , under the direction of Youth Pastor Rev Chris Lawton and V.B.S director Kim Roberts, about 160 children from pre school to fifth grade participate in games, music, song dance and arts and crafts, all centered around a biblical theme that brings home a message of the bible . This year the theme focused on staying strong when making moral decisions in life.
This yearly event is open to everyone of all faiths, and as in years past children from all the churches in Wilmington participated. with many of the churches helping out financially as well. Along with Pastor Chris and Kim about 40 teenage group leaders, and adults from the various churches, volunteered to help out for the week .
