VIDEO: Students See Consequences of Distracted Driving
Wilmington High School students got behind the wheel driving while impaired or texting using the Teen D.R.I.V.E. simulator.
Thanks to a driving simulator that was at throughout the week, students learned first-hand about what it's like to drive while impaired or while texting.
Students used an animated driving course under a variety of circumstances, and based on what happened, they learned the consequences. In some cases a crash led to a trip in an ambulance. Other situations included a stop by police and even an appearance in front of the judge.
The simulator was sponsored by a group of students on the , which started this year.
