When is the Last Day of School in Wilmington?

With all these snow days, some are wondering what the impact will be on when students will be out of school for summer vacation.

With all the snow and subsequent snow days we’ve had this winter, many have been asking, when is the last day of school in Wilmington?

While some school systems in Massachusetts are looking for ways to mitigate all the snow days by considering options including longer class days, Saturday classes and even cutting into April vacation in some cases, Wilmington is not one of them.

Superintendent Mary DeLai says right now, if there aren’t any additional snow days, Wilmington’s last day of school would be June 18, except for high school students whose last day is June 19 due to the extra day tacked onto the end of February break to allow teachers to unpack following the move to the new high school last month.

Wilmington had five snow days originally in its school calendar and so far all five have been used, but don’t fear, DeLai says another day won’t be cause for officials to take extraordinary measures such as converting vacation days or school holidays back into school days.

Now let’s hope all this snow is melted by then.
