Wildcat Boys Lacrosse Learns Playoff Fate

Wilmington High School snagged its second ever playoff berth and will be the bracket's No. 9 seed.

Thanks to the best regular season in program history, the Wilmington High School boys lacrosse team is heading to the playoffs for just the second time ever.

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association released its postseason pairings on Friday, and included was the Wildcats who snagged the No. 9 seed in the tournament.

As a result, Wilmington is slated to take on No. 24 seed Holliston on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the preliminary round. Holliston enters the tournament with a record of 11-7 while the Wildcats notched an impressive record of 14-4 following a bit of a late season stumble.

The winner of Tuesday's contest will take on either No. 8 Winchester or No. 25 Pentucket in the first round of the tournament.

It was a historic season for the Wilmington lacrosse program as in addition to the boys team's best ever campaign, the Lady Wildcats also earned a playoff berth for the first time ever.
