Wildcats Back to Work at Home This Week

Variety of teams hosting games this week.

After home games were a rarity last week, several Wilmington High School teams welcome their opponents to town in upcoming days.

The first varsity game of the week comes on Tuesday as the looks to build momentum from a dramatic win on Friday. In that game, Tim McCarthy broke a tie with six seconds left and helped the team snag a four-point win that tied them for first place in the Middlesex League Small School Division.

Joe Maiella's charges will travel to play Tewksbury on Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. tip off.

On Wednesday, a pair of local teams are in action at home. The hosts Lexington at 6:30 p.m. under the spotlight of the gym, while the skates against Marblehead at 8 p.m.

It's the turn to hit the court on Thursday, traveling to face Bishop Fenwick at 6:30 p.m.

Then on Friday, the Lady Wildcats return to action as the first part of a doubleheader. They tip off against Burlington at home beginning at 5:30 p.m. before the boys take their turn on the floor at 7 p.m. against the same opponent.

Finally on Saturday, the boys hockey team finishes the week with a tilt against Burlington at 2:30 p.m. inside . Thanks to a 3-0 win over Wakefield on Saturday, the Wildcats are now in first place in the Middlesex League Small School Division with a 3-0-1 mark in league play.

Also on Saturday the wrestling team travels to Wakefield for a quad meet at 9 a.m., the girls hockey team travels to Burlington at 8:10 p.m. and on Sunday the track teams head to the Division III State Relays at 9:30 a.m.
