Wildcats Receive Improved Effort in Latest Loss

The Wilmington boys lacrosse team is frustrated with its lack of results early on in the season, evident under the bright sun on Monday morning.

The Wildcats played one of their best tilts of the year, but still fell to Tewksbury, 9-5. Winless Wilmington also lost its head coach with 18 seconds to play in the game as mentor Kieran Kavanaugh was ejected following a pair of misconduct flags dished out for arguing with the referees.

Further discipline is possible for Kavanaugh, who may face a suspension for his ejection.

Tewksbury improved to 4-3 on the year with the victory, despite a solid effort from host Wilmington.

The Redmen went up 7-1 in the third quarter before two goals by Mitchell DeAmbrose and one from Brooks Carter made things a bit more interesting during a second half stretch.
