Wilmington Selectman Mike McCoy told Patch that this election is unlike anything he has ever seen before. McCoy has been a member of the Board of Selectmen for over 27 years.

"To be honest, I think that no matter who is going to win I think they'll only serve one term," said McCoy."The bottom line is that we just need to pull together as a nation."

12:45 p.m.: Disgraceful. That was the word Wilmington resident Mark Watson, 42, used to describe the tone of the 2016 presidential election. Watson felt that the actions of the candidates not only was embarrassing to themselves, but that their actions embarrassed our country on the world stage.

"We have a free and open democracy, and the issues that face this country are real and are impacting not only our national security but our ability to grow as an economy," Watson, who works as a Consultant for the Lympohoma Research Foundation. ."You saw none of that in any of the debates. There was little to no discussion about what they will do to improve our country, it was just personal attacks."

Watson added that the disgraceful tone of the race was one of the main reasons why he did not vote for any of the people on the ballot.

"Honestly, on a global level, it was embarrassing," said Watson
