WILMINGTON, MA -- The goal of finding a permanent principal for Wilmington Middle School will have to wait another year. In a letter to parents Friday, incoming Superintendent Glenn Brand said he wanted to delay hiring so he could "better understand the specific needs of the school community." Kevin Welch, who was appointed interim superintendent during the 2016-17 school year, will continue in that role.The school has struggled in recent years to find a permanent principal. Amy Gerade resigned for medical reasons in November 2016 after taking the position in July 2015.
