Wilmington Election Slate Shaping Up As Deadline Looms

Candidates have until the close of business Friday to return nomination papers with 50 signatures to be listed on the ballot.

WILMINGTON, MA -- Voters will elect a new selectman in the town election April 28, with incumbent Michael Champoux announcing earlier this year he would not seek reelection. There will also be a contested race for school committee. The ballot for the rest of the election will be finalized Friday, as candidates have until the close of business on March 9 to return nomination paers with 50 signatures for certification by the town clerk.

The following shows the current races for the April 28 election. Incumbents are listed in italics. Candidates that have not yet returned and had their nomination papers are marked with an asterisk:

Selectman, three-year term (one seat)

  • Robert A. Fasulo, Jr.
  • Joseph R. Mastrangelo *

Joseph Infantino, who had pulled papers to run for selectman, has withdrawn from the race.

School Committee, three-year term (two seats)

Manny Mulas previously announced he would no seek reelection.

Moderator, three-year term (one seat)

Wilmington Housing Authority, five-year term (one seat)

  • Robert C. DiPasquale

Polls will be open from 8 am to 8 pm on April 28.
