Wilmington Girls GU14-5 soccer team wins Chamionship
Wilmington Wildcats GU14-5 soccer team won the MYSL Commissioners cup held in Woburn on June 20th and June 21st.
The Wilmington GU14-5 soccer team led by keeper DELANEY DIAZ recently traveled to Woburn as Division champs to compete for the MYSL championship. With a rock Solid Defense led by HEATHER BECK , REBECCA GANLEY, NICOLE KRUGER, AMIE RUSSELL and ALANAH COLANTUONI the girls combined to allow only 3 goals in 8 regular season games and only 1 goal during the 3 game commissioner cup series, this record placed the girls 2nd out of 63 teams for fewest goals allowed.
The Midfielders led by SAMMI MARZI , NATALIE FOX , KIKI BARNUM and KYLIE FLANAGAN combined to shut down the 3 opposing teams offense and keep the ball in the Wilmington forwards possession.
The Forward line led by KATHERINE WEYMOUTH , SAMMI FUSCO, MEGHAN CANALE and ALAINA DESANTIS took care of the Wilmington scoring by winning game 1 vs. Westford 2-1 , game 2 vs. Burlington 1-0 and the final game 3 tied Stoneham 0-0 .

The WILMINGTON LADIES WERE CROWNED COMMISIONERS CUP CHAMPIONS at an award ceremony on Sunday afternoon.
The ladies played with heart, team spirit and sportsmanship , as one parent commented ” This is not a team, we are a family”
