Wilmington Man Charged With Fifth OUI After Hit-And-Run Crash
Richard R. Steen, 58, was arrested for his fifth OUI offense Sunday.

WILMINGTON, MA -- A Wilmington man is facing fifth offense OUI charges, as well as a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle after an early-morning crash Sunday. Wilmington Police arrested Richard R. Steen, 58, of 13 Beacon Street, after the driver he hit at the intersection of Lowell and Parker Streets followed him to his home and called police at 12:29 am Sunday morning.
If convicted, Steen would face fines up to $50,000 and a mandatory minimum sentence of 2 1/2 years in state prison. State law also calls for a mandatory, lifetime loss of a driver's license after the fifth OUI conviction.
