Wilmington Man Faces Life In Prison After Drug Case Guilty Plea

Bryan Moran, 35, faces a minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty in federal court Wednesday.

BOSTON, MA -- Bryan Moran, 35, of Wilmington, entered a guilty plea on one count of to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl in federal court in Boston Wednesday. U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani scheduled sentencing for August 3, at which time Moran faces a sentence of 10 years to life in prison, supervised release and up to $8 million in fines.

Moran was arrested in June 2016 after investigators seized approximately 80 grams of fentanyl from a storage unit in North Reading. In October 2017, a superseding indictment added a five-year mandatory minimum sentence against Moran; however, due to a 2003 conviction in federal court for heroin conspiracy, Moran faces a 10-year mandatory minimum.
