WILMINGTON, MA -- A Wilmington man allegedly drove over a woman's front lawn shortly after being asked to leave Rocco's on Main Street in Wilmington Thursday. Saviano, 51, of 5 Clinton Street in Wilmington, charging him with OUI - Liquor (third offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage and vandalizing property, according to the Wilmington Police log.
Wilmington Police were called to Rocco's by the manager at 4:18 where a man had just been asked to leave. Staff at the restaurant said the man was intoxicated when he arrived and had driven off in a Ford. A short time later, a 5:29 pm, police received a call from a Clinton Street resident who said someone had driven through her yard and hit a light post while she was out.
Police located the vehicle from both calls in the driveway at 5 Clinton Street. The vehicle, which had front end damage, was towed from the scene as evidence. Saviano refused medical attention and was detained by police until a family member arrived to take custody.
