Wilmington Man Suspended From Somerville Police After Assault
Paul Duffy reportedly told Wilmington Police officers they should be "ashamed" for arresting him.

WILMINGTON, MA -- Paul Duffy appeared drunk and asked for forgiveness when Wilmington Police arrested him Friday morning, saying the arrest would ruin his pension, according to police reports. Duffy also reportedly told the responding offices they should be "ashamed" for arrestinga "brother officer."
The Somerville Police Department placed the Wilmington resident on administrative leave following his not guilty plea Friday to a charge of assault on a family member. Police were called to Duffy's residence around 5 am Friday. Following his not-guilty plea, Duffy was sent to a seven-day drug and alcohol rehabilitation treatment program.
