Wilmington Police Resuscitate Man Who Collapsed In Dollar Tree
Officers Paul Chalifour and Butch Alpers are being credited with administering the CPR that saved the man's life.

WILMINGTON, MA -- Wilmington Police are being credited with saving the life of a man who collapsed in the Dollar Tree store tuesday afternoon. Officers Paul Chalifour and Butch Alpers responded to the 911 call at 1:50 pm and began administering CPR while Sgt. Chris Ahern and officers Anthony Fiore and Rich DiPerri provided logistical support.
After using a Automated External Defibrillator, the man regained a pulse and began breathing on his own, according to Wilmington Police. The main regained consciousness and was talking with rescue personnel before being transported to Lahey Clinic.
"The individual had regained consciousness at the scene largely due to the efforts of the Officers," Deputy Fire Chief Gary Donovan said in a letter to Wilmington Police Chief Michael Begonis.
