Body of Missing North Andover Woman Believed to be Found in Wilmington

The body of Ira Jaan Simbulan has likely been found on Glen Road in Wilmington.

WILMINGTON, MA — A nearly two-day-long search ended in tragedy Wednesday afternoon in Wilmington as authorities announced that they believe they have discovered the body of 18-year-old Ira Jaan Simbulan of North Andover.

According to an announcement from the Middlesex County District Attorney's office, a body believed to be Simbulan's was discovered on Glen Road in Wilmington Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Preliminary investigation did not indicate foul play, according to the district attorney's office.

Simbulan was enrolled at Babson College in Wellesley.

In a statement, Michael Chmura, director of public relations at Babson, said:

“We are incredibly saddened by the news of Ira Jaan Simbulan’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends, and all members of the Babson College community mourning the loss of this extraordinary young woman. We are making counseling services and other support resources available to students, faculty, and staff who are affected by this news. We continue to offer our support to Ira’s family and assistance to local law enforcement investigating this sudden death.”

The Wilmington Town Crier first reported that Ira Jaan Simbulan was found dead behind a home on Glen Road in Wilmington. According to a missing persons flyer, she was last seen stepping out of an Uber at 5:30 p.m. on Glen Road on Monday.

Police began searching for Simbulan Tuesday morning in the area of Glen Road.
