Red Heat Tavern on Lowell Street in Wilmington was recently featured on the Phantom Gourmet.

Red Heat Tavern gets its name from the “fire kissed food coming out of the kitchen because much of it’s cooked in a wood burning Josper oven,” Dan Andelman says in the segment.

“Fire, it’s in the heart of every pass chef and it’s at the core of creating creating great food and no where does the fire burn hotter than at the Red Heat Tavern.”

The Phantom Gourmet touts the restaurant as an “affordable place guaranteed to to fire up your app for steaks, chicken wings and pork belly mac and cheese.”

Chef Martha Leahy, says they serve “good old stick to your ribs, homestyle food.” And it’s made from scratch daily in the restaurant’s kitchen.
