WILMINGTON, MA — Members of the Wilmington Rotary Club will be participating in the Rotary District 7930's sixth annual Polar Plunge in Gloucester in February to help the charge to eradicate the disease of polio, and the club seeks to raise funds to support the effort.
Several Wilmington residents and rotary club members will be taking the plunge, including Assistant District Governor Jim Major, President Jonathan Eaton and several Interact students. They will join a group estimated to be around 300 people that will take the plunge into the frigid waters of Cape Ann this year.
In 2015, over 250 people took the plunge and raised more than $98,000. This year's plunge will be held on Feb. 4 at Long Beach in Gloucester at 11 a.m.
