Wilmington Students Learn Cooking Essentials
Kids Cooking Green course recently wrapped up at Wilmington High School.

Kids Cooking Green (KCG) is a series of classes and activities introducing children to the importance of eating locally grown food. Through hands-on cooking and lively classroom presentations, students learn about nutrition and the positive impact eating locally can have on the environment, and their bodies. Each class has a nutritional component, an environment component, and a cooking lesson!
At a recent week long summer KCG cooking camp offered at the for kids aged 8-13, kids learned how to prepare fish tacos, strawberry rhubarb sauce, fresh pasta, and chicken Piccata.

The kids were visited by local farmer Amanda Munsie of Bountiful Basket Farm, (and two of her chickens) and chef/owner Jenn Robbins of Robbins Nest Bakery who showed the kids how to make fresh fruit Crostadas.
