Wilmington Superintendent Proposes Additional Early-Release Days

Wilmington Schools Superintendent Glenn Brand proposed four additional early-release days, the Town Crier reported.

WILMINGTON, MA — At the Jan. 22 meeting of the Wilmington School Committee, Superintendent Glenn Brand proposed extra early-release days for the 2020-2021 school year, the Wilmington Town Crier reported. The proposed calendar was for the most part the same as the current year, but the number of half days would increase from five to nine. All four additional days would be Wednesdays.

"Brand stated that these additional days would seek to fill the need for collaboration and collective meeting among the staff district-wide," the Town Crier reported. "According to a list provided by Brand, the addition of early-release days would still keep Wilmington within the same range of other nearby districts."
