Wilmington Town Manager Says Crews Are Working To Clear Sidewalks
The effort to clear sidewalks of snow and ice may continue through the end of this week and into next week, according to Jeffrey Hull.

WILMINGTON, MA -- Kids were back in school Monday after missing two days at the end of last week that dumped close to a foot of snow on Wilmington. But lots of parents were complaining about sidewalks that had not been cleared. The town manager's message to those parents (and anyone else who wanted to take advantage of warmer temperatures and go for a walk): please be patient.
At Monday night's selectmen's meeting, Wilmington Town Manager Jeffrey Hull said he expects work by DPW crews to clear sidewalks to continue through this week and possibly into next week. As of Monday, Hull said the town had cleared parking lots for the schools and town buildings, as well as sidewalks where kids stand to wait for school buses, which is second after roads in the town's priority list for snow removal efforts. The crews had moved onto other sidewalks as of Monday night's meeting, Hull said.
Hull thanked residents for their patience, noting the town had fielded several calls from residents asking when their sidewalks would be cleared. He also noted a town bylaw, which requires business owners to clear snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their business.
