WOBURN, MA — Plans for a dog obedience school in Woburn took a step closer to approval when a City Council committee on Monday expressed cautious support for the idea.
Resident and dog trainer Lori Lodato wants to open the school inside a warehouse at 41 High St., according to the Daily Times Chronicle.
The South End site is less than 200 feet from a residential zoning district, which led some neighbors to worry about the noise of dogs barking. Those worries, in turn, worried councilors.
However, at a meeting of the council’s Special Permits Committee, Lodato agreed to a variety of conditions that seemed to address the concerns.
For example, she said she would equip the school site with sound-deadening insulation, and pledged there would never be more than 15 dogs on the site at one time.
