WOBURN, MA — Tuesday marked the anniversary of the disappearance of Melanie Melanson, who was just 14 years old when she went missing.
Police said that more than three decades later, the case remains under active investigation.
"Someone may know something that could make a difference," police said. "Even the smallest detail, whether remembered recently or from many years ago, could be important to investigators."
Police shared a photo of Melanson along with age progression showing her as 51 years old.
Melanson has never been seen or heard from since she went missing. When she was last seen, she had braces on her teeth.
She went missing after a party in the woods. Investigators have conducted extensive searches of the woods and other areas of Woburn but never found her body.
