Young Matthew Govostes has already gone through a lot in his short life. But he's currently on the road to good health, which is good news to many.
The first-grader underwent successful heart transplant surgery on Jan. 25.
School officials expect Matthew to be at Children's Hospital in Boston recuperating for a long period of time, meaning that his parents—Elena and Jay Govostes—will be spending a lot of time in the city and traveling to and from the hospital. Matthew's brother, Nathan, is also dividing his time between school, home and Children's.

The Wyman School community is joining together to support the Govostes family by starting a "Hearts for Matthew" campaign.
The hearts have been sent home with students and encourage families to leave a message for the Govostes. There are additional hearts for the community to fill out available at the Wyman School office.
