1 Arrested After Double-Stabbing In Worcester

Police found two men with stab wounds and later arrested one of them on charges including assault with intent to murder.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police have arrested one of the men injured in a double-stabbing Friday night at an Elizabeth Street apartment.

Police were called to the Bell Hill-area apartment near 11:30 p.m. Friday after someone called 911 to report a bleeding man had had walked out of the building. They followed a trail of blood into an apartment, where police said they found Steven Montalvo, 42, with a stab wound to the hand.

A second man had walked into a nearby emergency room with multiple stab wounds. The 26-year-old's injuries were described as "serious but not life-threatening," police said in a news release.

Police later arrested Montalvo and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and armed assault with intent to murder.
