2 Charged With Trafficking Heroin In Worcester

After a long investigation, a man and woman were arrested and and face numerous charges.

WORCESTER, MA—A man and woman from Worcester both face numerous charges after Worcester police catch up with them after a lengthy investigation into their presumed drug activity.

On Tuesday, June 6, members of the WPD Vice Squad searched a house on Jacques Ave., warrant in hand. The target of the warrant was Reina Garcia, 25, of the same address, the result of a lengthy drug investigation. Earlier in the day, Garcia was seen making an apparent drug deal with a man later identified as James Bishop, 50, Freeland Street, Worcester, with the purchase of heroin.

Police believed that Bishop and Garcia were in the drug trade business.

Bishop was stopped by Vice officers after Garcia had driven off. Bishop had 59 half grams of heroin and $453.00 in cash, and was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Heroin (18-36 grams) and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.

Garcia was stopped and placed under arrest for Distribution of Class A Substance. A search later produced 17 half grams of heroin and cash. The total amount in cash recovered from both suspects was $4,327.00.
Garcia was also charged with Possession of Class A Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws and Trafficking in Heroin (18-36 grams).

Both suspects were arraigned on Wednesday at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
