Police were told that the driver lost control and hit a utility pole. The rear passenger suffered a serious head injury.

WORCESTER, MA—Two young women, one of them 12 weeks pregnant, were transported to the hospital after a car crash on Friday evening.
On Friday, June 30, shortly after 9 p.m., Worcester police responded to 1137 Grafton St. where a single car crash had just happened. A 2003 Acura suffered extensive damage from hitting a utility pole, and there were three people inside the car, with a 17-year-old in the back seat suffering from a serious head injury. The 18-year-old female driver, who is 12 weeks pregnant, was complaining of pain caused by the seat belt, said police. Worcester EMS arrived and treated both females at the scene and transported them to a nearby hospital.
The driver and passengers told police that they were headed west on Sunderland Road and had just turned right onto Grafton Street when the driver lost control and hit a utility pole located in front of YD Liquors at 1140 Grafton St.
Investigators went to the hospital and checked on the two females. The driver was in good condition and sent for evaluation as precautionary measure. The rear passenger was being treated for her serious head injury. Her exact condition is unknown at this time but she was conscious and alert at the scene. It appears that her injury is non-life threatening.
