21 Displaced, Worcester Firefighter Injured In Apartment Fire

WORCESTER, MA — A three-alarm fire badly damaged an apartment building near Becker College on Tuesday evening, according to the fire department.

The fire broke out around 6 p.m. at a home near the corner of West and William streets. A second alarm was struck by 6:30 p.m., and the third alarm by 7 p.m.

Worcester fire officials said the blaze was contained relatively quickly, and one firefighter suffered a minor injury. Twenty-one people who live in the apartment building were left homeless after the fire, according to the fire department.
