23-Year-Old Woman Has Died After Striking Pole on Route 146: Police
A woman was pronounced dead at the hospital after a crash on 146 early Friday morning.

WORCESTER, MA—A woman has died after injuries following a crash on Route 146 in Worcester early Friday morning.
On May 20 at approximately 1:25 a.m. the Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the area of Route 146 at the off ramp on the south side. A 23-year-old woman was driving when she struck a steel pole that protected a traffic control box.
After the crash, the woman called her boyfriend, who came to the scene and brought her to his home. He called an ambulance to the residence and she was transported to a local hospital and listed in critical condition.
On Friday evening, Worcester police officers were notified that the woman was pronounced dead at the hospital at around 8 p.m.
The victim’s name will be released when family members are properly notified.
Massachusetts State Police were the first to arrive at the accident site.
The Accident Reconstruction Team continues to investigate.
