3-Alarm Fire In Worcester Destroys Home
The fire was burning in a neighborhood northeast of downtown Worcester on Monday afternoon.

WORCESTER, MA — A three-alarm fire badly damaged a home near downtown Worcester on Monday evening. The fire broke out just before 5 p.m. along Westminster Street.
Images from the scene posted on social media showed flames shooting out of the roof of the home as Worcester firefighters attacked the blaze from outside. The Worcester Department of Emergency Management and the Red Cross were called to the scene to help people displaced by the fire.
Monday's fire was the second serious incident in Worcester in recent days. Firefighters responded to a home along Beacon Street early Sunday morning. Seven people were left homeless after that fire, and one firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The location of Monday's fire was 41 Westminster St., which is in a neighborhood a few blocks north of UMass Memorial Medical Center.
