3 Face Charges After Investigation Yields Heroin, Cash, Stun Gun And Other Drugs
Three men from Worcester are facing drug distribution charges.

WORCESTER, MA—Two men are facing charges after an ongoing investigation leads to arrests for drug distribution.
On Friday, May 19, WPD's Vice Squad headed to search an apartment on Upsala Street, 51 Wall Street and a car, with warrants in hand, targeting the two Worcester men. Jason Fontanez, 22, Upsala Street, and Mario Galan, 25, Crystal Street, both were arrested on several charges.
Officers set up surveillance for the Wall Street and Upsala Street addresses, and an hour later, spotted Galan driving an Infiniti from the Wall Street address along with Fontanez in the passenger seat. Another man sat in the back. Officers followed them to the intersection of Houghton and Dorchester streets, where they pulled over. A Hyundai pulled up next to them.
A man, later identified as James Bourget, 51, Canterbury Street, got out and walked over to the car, where an apparent drug transaction took place, said police. The cars dispersed, and officers followed them both.
Bourget was pulled over at 793 Grafton St., a bag of heroin in his pocket and a loose chunk of crack cocaine in the car. He was arrested and charged with Possession of Class A Substance (heroin) and Possession of Class B Substance (cocaine).
Squad members continued to survey the two properties, and around 4 p.m., the suspect vehicle headed back to Wall Street. Galan and the man sitting in the back seat got out and went inside. The two came back out with a backpack, getting into another vehicle: a 2004 Honda Accord. Officers followed the Honda, the driver operating erratically and speeding. The found the car at the Upsala address, where Fontanez went into the apartment. Some officers went into the apartment and others followed the Honda, stopping the car on Grafton Street.
Galan was behind the wheel, and he was taken out of the car and arrested, charged with Distribution of Class A Substance and Distribution of Class B Substance, Conspiracy and Operating a MV with a Revoked License. The person in the back seat was not arrested. Galan was also additionally charged with a second count of Distribution of Class A Substance based on surveillance that the officers had on him on May 17.
Fontanez was the only person in the Upsala Street apartment, where police found two cell phones, two scales, $340 in cash and other drug paraphernalia. Fontanez was arrested at the scene and charged with distribution of Class A Substance, distribution of Class B substance and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws.
At the Wall Street address, officers found a woman and two small children inside. There, they found $5,008 in cash, crib notes pertaining to the drug trade, a stun gun, a bag of heroin, personal paperwork belonging to Galan and Fontanez, three cellphones, baggies, a scale and other drug paraphernalia.
All three suspects will be arraigned on Monday, May 22, at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
