3 Men Allegedly Invade Home With Guns, Crowbar, While Family Slept

WORCESTER, MA—In an early morning home invasion, alleged robbers forced their way into an Orient Street home while a man watched TV, and his family slept.

On Tuesday, June 14, around 1:04 a.m., Worcester police responded to an Orient Street address for a reported home invasion. The victim, a 33-year-old man, told police that three men wearing dark clothing and armed with handguns and a crowbar, came into his home. Two of the men had guns and the third held the crowbar, said police.

The victim said around 12:45 a.m., he was watching TV in bed while his family slept. He heard a loud bang from the front door, so he got out of bed to check out the noise when he saw three men running up the stairs toward him. He tried to shut the bedroom door but they got their way into the room, demanding money.

The victim's 29-year-old wife and their four children, ages 1-16, were home and sleeping. The suspects took cash from the wife’s purse and from the 16-year-old's purse. The suspects searched the home but did not locate any additional money. After searching the home the suspects left, and there were no injuries.

WPD detectives arrived at the scene and took charged of the investigation. Members of the Crime Scene Unit arrived and processed the scene for evidence.
