3 Men Arrested for Allegedly Beating Man With Bat While Robbing Him

Three are facing assault charges after police say they beat a 57-year-old man and stole his belongings.

WORCESTER, MA—Three men are facing assault charges for allegedly beating a man with a baseball bat and robbing him.

On Friday, May 20, around 6:37 p.m. Worcester police were called to the area of 20 Crystal St. for a report of an armed robbery. Officers found a 57-year-old man suffering from several cuts and bruises on his head, and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police learned that a group of men approached him and hit him with a bat while they stole his belongings. Worcester's Gang Unit found a group in the area that fit the description of the suspects, including Kenneth Panek, 25, who was wanted for an outstanding warrant.

One, later identified as Tasheil Johnson, had a baseball bat. Johnson was also in possession of an alcoholic beverage. The males were in possession of stolen items.

As officers apprehended the three, Panek fought with officers and threatened them. All three males were transported to Worcester Police Headquarters.

Victor Gray, 22, of 23 Tower Street, Apt 1, Worcester was charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Armed Robbery.

Kenneth Panek, 25, of 3 Buffum Street, Worcester was charged with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Armed Robbery, and Witness Intimidation. He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Tasheil Johnson, 19, of 96 Stanton Street, Apt 2, Worcester, was charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Armed Robbery and Transporting Liquor to a Person under 21.
