3 People Shot In Worcester Now Facing Charges

WORCESTER, MA — Three people shot Wednesday night in the downtown area are now facing criminal charges, according to police.

Officers responded to the Madison Place plaza at around 9:30 p.m. after an alert from gunshot surveillance system. Two victims were found at the scene: a 16-year-old from Worcester, and Timothy Kane, 22, of Worcester. A third man, Kashme Craig, 22, of Rutland, was dropped off at an emergency room.

Police said that shooting broke out when two groups of people got into a fight near the 64 Madison St. plaza.

Kane was charged with a host of gun law violations, including carrying a gun without a license and possessing a large-capacity gun. The 16-year-old was charged with armed assault to murder, plus gun law violations.

Craig was charged with firing a gun within 500 feet of a home, two counts of armed assault to murder, interfering with a police officer and gun law violations.

The shooting was still under investigation as of Thursday morning, police said.
