50th Planting The Seed Foundation Toy Drive Underway In Central MA
There are over 30 drop-off locations, including in Worcester, Marlborough, Shrewsbury and Westborough.
WORCESTER, MA — A long-running local toy drive us underway now. The Planting the Seed Foundation's 50th annual toy drive got underway Monday, with drop boxes now open across the region from Acton to Oxford through Dec. 8.

Planting the Seed Foundation today announced it will hold its 50th annual Holiday Toy Drive & Party to celebrate the season of giving, thanks to the generous support of local businesses and individuals across central Massachusetts.
The holiday party will be held Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at Worcester Fitness, 440 Grove St. in Worcester. Donations of new toys and gifts for children of all ages (newborn to 18) are welcome at the event, as well as at designated drop-off locations through Dec. 8.
“It’s wonderful for the foundation and all of our longtime supporters to carry on this tradition for 50 years, and each year be able to help more children and families than before,” Planting the Seed Foundation Chair Molly McCullough said. “This sustained giving is a reflection of the substantial generosity and holiday spirit that shines brightly across central Massachusetts this time of year.”
The holiday party features refreshments, cash bar, DJ and exciting raffles to raise money for the foundation. In addition to toys, books and other gifts, supporters are welcome to donate gift cards (suggested amount $20-25) to retailers such as Target, Walmart, TJ Maxx, Gap, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Visa.
