56-Year-Old Worcester Man Arrested at His Home for Heroin Trafficking
Police found heroin, baggies, a scale and cash in his home.

WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester man is facing drug charges after police searched his apartment and found heroin, paraphernalia and cash.
On Wednesday, Nov. 9, the vice squad searched an address on Camp Street, where Carlos Morales-Marte, 56 is a resident.
Around 11:05 a.m., undercover officers saw Marte get into a black Acura parked outside of Haviland Street that he is known to frequent, according to police. He drove away, and police knew his license was suspended, so they stopped his car at Main and Norwood Streets. Several officers, warrant in hand, went to the Camp Street apartment, knocking loudly on the door. No one answered, after which they forced their way in. A man was inside, and Marte was escorted inside as cops forced a locked bedroom open that belonged to Marte.
In the bedroom, police found 91 grams of heroin, scales, sandwich baggies and $1,070 in cash. Marte was arrested, and during a search, police found $132 in cash.
Marte was issued a citation for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, Possession of Class A substance (heroin, 2nd subsequent offense) and trafficking in Heroin (37-99 grams).
Vice investigators obtained a search warrant for the Havilland Street apartment that he frequents. The officers were allowed in by the occupant. The search of the apartment produced a vacuum sealed bag of marijuana and $2,220 in cash. All cash, marijuana and heroin were confiscated as evidence and processed.
Marte is currently being held at WPD headquarters on $100,040 cash bail.
Marte will be arraigned Nov. 10 at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
