7 Injured, 14 Displaced In Overnight Fire

The fire broke out in a three-story multi-family home on Merryfield St. in Worcester.

WORCESTER, MA- An early morning fire on Worcester has left 14 people without a home and at least seven people in the hospital.

The fire broke out in a home at 77 Merryfield St. in Worcester. According to Boston 25 News, Worcester Deputy Fire Chief Andrew White said the fire started on the second floor of the three-story multi-family home. Five people were rescued by ladder and a total of seven people suffered non-life threatening injuries while 14 have been displaced.

The condition of those in the hospital is unknown. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
