750 Bags Heroin Found In Child's Teddy Bear In Drug Raid
Drugs were found in this extensive raid in Springfield. Detectives found the target of the raid in bed with heroin and a loaded gun.

SPRINGFIELD, MA—Police conducted a drug raid in Hampden County this week that yielded a hefty amount of drugs, including 750 bags of heroin that were stuffed inside a child's Teddy Bear.
Hampden County Narcotics Task Force and the Springfield Police Department Conduct Drug Raid on Ft. Pleasant Ave. in Springfield, and seized what is considered a "trafficking weight" amount of cocaine, heroin, and also loaded firearms and ammunition, said police.
On Tuesday at 6:05 a.m., members of the Hampden County Narcotics Task Force conducted a drug raid at an apartment on Fort Pleasant Ave., the raid a the culmination of a lengthy investigation. The target of the investigation was a Joshua Santiago, 22, of that same address.
When detectives went into the apartment, they saw Santiago in bed, and was sharing his bed with a large quantity of heroin and a loaded .380 handgun, said police.
The investigators seized the following in their search incident to arrest:
750 bags of heroin found stuffed inside a childs Teddy Bear that was found inside a child's room
27 bags of CocaineAnother 68 grams of Cocaine$784.00 in cash.380 handgun fully loaded along with 37 rounds of ammo (the serial number on the gun was obliterated)Scales and drug paraphernalia.
Santiago was charged with: Trafficking in Cocaine; Trafficking in Heroin; Possession of Firearm; Possession of Firearm During a felony; Possession of Ammo; and Possession Of Firearm With Obliterated Serial Number).
Santiago was arraigned in Springfield District Court.
