After The March On Washington: Group Leader Shares Thoughts, Photos
Karen Sharpe, who organized the area's trek to the Women's March on Washington, shares her reaction, and photos, with Patch.
WORCESTER, MA — Once local poet and activist Karen Sharpe caught wind of the plans behind the Women's March on Washington last November, she was off to the races. Or, er, off to the march, with an army of pink-hatted Worcester women beside her.
The official message from the organizers for the national march was to "send a bold message to our new government on their first day in office, and to the world that women's rights are human rights." Sharpe became the regional organizer, created a Facebook page, and headed down on Saturday, joining millions around the world in major marches to stamp a message on the minds of those they felt should be listening.
Worcester Patch talked to Sharpe upon her return:

Can you describe the vibe of the experience/day? The energy of the March was unlike anything I've ever experienced. A half million people assembled peacefully, courteously, with pride in the cause and the mission. It truly was an embodiment of the idea that we are stronger together.
Do you think it did, or will, make a difference? If so, how? Yes! While many will return to their lives, it will not be the same life because many, myself included, will be continuing to explore how to move the agenda forward.

What effect has it had so far? Trump already trying to lie about the attendance proves our fears that this administration will act dishonestly, disingenuously and with contempt for what the people are really expressing.
Best sign of the day? It's really so hard to pick because of the broad platform and intersectionality of the approach. I still like mine a lot.
