Alleged Heroin, Crack Dealer Arrested by Gang Unit

Worcester's Gang Unit is working with state police to conduct undercover drug buys in Worcester.

WORCESTER, MA—In a joint effort between Worcester's Gang Unit and the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit, another arrest was made after conducting undercover drug buys in the city.

Prior to an operation on June 8, officers got some information during an investigation that specified a certain man who was dealing heroin and crack cocaine throughout the city.

At approximately 4:15 p.m., an undercover officer called the man to meet with him to buy heroin or cocaine. The officer had cash, and the serial numbers were documented.

The officer arranged to meet with the dealer on Chandler Street, said police. The surveillance team in place, the officer saw a man standing next to a Ford Taurus. After making eye contact, the officer got in his car and handed him money in exchange for two glassine baggies with heroin from a candy container. The undercover officer exited the vehicle and walked away, and the suspect drove off.

Members of the WPD Gang Unit stopped the suspect vehicle.

The driver and only occupant, Jordan Swan, 27, 3 Lenox St., Worcester, had the documented money. Officers also located the candy container, inside 1 glassine baggie of heroin. Officers also discovered $1,201 in cash.

Swan was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Class A Substance with the Intent to Distribute and Distribution of Class A Substance.

He was arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse on Thursday.
