Republican primary candidate Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, who is running for US Senate, has become a fixture on this season's campaign trail. The candidate usually goes by "Dr. Shiva" or just "Shiva" to his campaign supporters. With his busloads of supporters criss-crossing the state nearly every day, Dr. Shiva is a familiar sight. As the September 1st Republican primary approaches, Shiva is counting not only on the Republican faithful to put him over the top, against a candidate whom he says is a hand-picked lawyer from the Republican establishment, but on "unenrolled"-status voters.

Shiva's unapologetic criticism of the government's handling of the COVID-19 virus, and its reliance on shutdowns, masks, and social distancing, have given him a national following.

On vaccines, he acknowledges the importance of many, but insists that in medicine, "one size does not fit all." Shiva champions vaccine choice.

At his campaign website he writes:

"Vaccines are one of many important tools in our medical system, but everyone’s body is different; and like any drug, not all vaccines are created equal. Individuals should be able to make an informed decision with their physician, about whether or not vaccines (and which vaccines) are right for them and their situation."

Shiva says:

"Top-down one-size-fits-all mandatory medicine treats human beings as interchangeable units and will injure as many people as it helps."

Shiva constantly talks about the neglected role of "healthy lifestyle," and natural ways to boost the immune system as a potent weapon against all diseases including COVID.

Shiva is a bio-engineer with four degrees from MIT, including a PhD, and is a Fulbright Scholar.

In the September 1st Massachusetts Republican primary, either registered Republicans, or people registered as "unenrolled" may vote. Shiva's campaign motto is "Truth. Freedom. Health."
